    In 'Metafissa del sesso' the work of D.H. Lawrence is discussed at various occasions. Here, J. Evola cites mainly from his novels and correspondence and clearly points out the limitations of his "vitalism" or "religion of the flesh".

    There is no explicit reference however to Lawrence's essay 'Fantasia of the Unconscious' from 1921, in which we encounter descriptions of the male-female polarity similar to those of Evola's.
