I would like to read the Doresse book, if I can find it - the theory that the
Israelite religion is a demonic
inversion of the Egyptian one is certainly attractive, but it is incompatible
with the theory that Moses was the
possessor of some kind of positive Egyptian initiatory tradition. Either his
tradition itself would have to be
regarded as a counter-initiation relative to the rest of the Egyptian tradition,
or alternatively, the religion
as it developed after the exodus must have defied Moses (e.g. the golden calf
and the revolt in the desert
represent a real and permanent rebellion) as Freud also thought.
I think it is fair to argue that Christianity contains an element of solar
('osirian') myth and ritual, but that
this is usually outweighed by the various saturnian ('setian') jewish elements,
if I can argue that Saturn is
the patron of the antithesis of the solar cult. There may be a counter-argument
in favour of there being a
positive saturnian tradition also, this is another subject on which I find Evola
a little obscure.
