Hello,

Julius Evola's autobiography, 'The Road of Cinnabar', was published
in 1963, then, in an expanded edition, in 1972, two years before his
death, by Scheiwiller. So far, it's been translated and published
only in one language: French. Notwithstanding the seriousness of this
French translation, which is no longer available, a few
misinterpretations and mistranslations can be found in it. For
instance, according to this French translation, Evola in his youth
made a point of not accepting any academic chair. In fact, he went
much further than this in his refusal of accepting any profane
title: "when I was young, I made a particolar point of not accepting
on any account a degree" ("da giovane feci un particolare punto del
non voler assolutamente prendere una laurea (...)").

A new translation of this absolutely fundamental work could be
brought out, but it turns out that the conditions are far from being
present at the moment in French editorial circles for this to happen.
In the meantime, the first chapter of 'Il Cammino del cinabro' will
be available in French on http///thompkins_cariou.tripod.com in the
coming days for those who can read French. The 'Foreword' will be
posted onto it before: tomorrow.
