Other 'Unknown Sources' 2

In 'L'"eterogenesi dei fini" e gli avvenimenti mondiali' (La Vita
Italiana, February 1940) ('The "Heterogenesis of Purpose" and world-
wide events') Evola applied Wilhelm Wundt's theory of the
heterogenesis of purpose to the most significant events of the first
months of WW2, and showed that two opposing blocks can work for the
interests of a third party, obviously, without the former being
conscious of it. Ultimately, a third party could manage to trigger a
conflagration between two opposing blocks, and eventually, within
each of those opposing blocks, conflicts between antagonistic
factions, in order to benefit from the whole thing.

As you know, Dugin's work has various facets. His political and
philosophical neo-Eurasianist theories interest us only as signs of
the times ; for instance, the Eurasianist dogma according to which
geographic space has a decisive influence on the culture of a given
people and on its history appears to us as a mere adaptation of the
Marxist milieu-theory to a certain nationalism, boosted by Gumilev's
vitalism, 'passionarnost'. His 'Konspirologiia', on the other hand,
is not uninteresting ; some of his considerations match up with those
of other authors and even allow to go deeper into the latter's,
especially with regard to the concept of 'Cosmism', a new form of
messianism which broke out in pre-Revolutionary Russia and took hold
later in American intellectual circles, before developing into
the 'New-Age' movement. As to the key-idea on which his
conspirologist theory is based, that of an eschatological fight
between Eurasians and Atlanticists for world dominion, it is
pertinent, but only to a certain extent and on a certain plane ; it
is limited, among other things, by the fact that it doesn't
incorporate the essential factor which we have just mentioned, that
is, the heterogenesis of purpose.

As far as Dugin himself is concerned, since, as already pointed out,
he appeared on the Russian political scene as a KGB 'agent
provocateur' in the late 1980's, and he has become lately an
unofficial adviser to the former KGB officer currently in charge of
Russia, we are legitimately faced with two alternatives : either he
fights sincerely the so-called 'New World Order', though, from our
point of view, with prayer wheels, or he's a fake.

P.s.: "Also in the late 1970s, Dugin joined an underground group of
Moscow intellectuals interested in mysticism, paganism, and fascism,
and this experience contributed greatly to Dugin's intellectual
development. He reportedly maintained contacts with the group until
1988, when he and another member, Geidar Dzhamal, joined Pamyat, a
nationalist, anti-Semitic organization. Analysts widely believe that
Pamyat was controlled from the onset by the KGB, which used it to
frighten democratic forces, although Pamyat activists denied this.

According to the well-informed Paul Klebnikov, however, it is a
fact : Pamyat was a KGB-sponsored provocation, designed, not
to "frighten democratic forces" in the broadest sense as assumed
here, but to "channel Russian nationalist sentiments into a
politically reliable entity and to frighten Western public opinion
into supporting the moderate Gorbachev as the 'only alternative' to
extremist forces".

Besides, Pamyat was not an "anti-Semitic" organisation, but an anti-
Zionist group. There is more than a slight difference between anti-
Semitism and anti-Zionism.

Some 'National-Bolshevik' groups and some 'Eurasianist' groups have
criticised bitterly Dugin for enjoying financial support from the
office of the political schemer currently in charge of Russia.
Dugin's support to him, however, doesn't seem to be unconditional, at
least publicly, since Dugin has rebuked him for having declared
himself in favour of the new (Sörosian) regime in Ukraina.

No one has asked us yet what Evola's favourite food was. Since you are in a cooking mood, let's draw out the metaphor : the name of Evola in such writings...

I don't see how you get from Georges Soulès to Henri de Grossouvre. The latter is obviously a supporter of NATO, but this does not establish that the former...
