Re: [evola_as_he_is] Re: Perun's War Novel of the Wendish Crusade

Discovering Evola's comprehensive understanding of the Guelph/Ghibelline conflict was an astounding revelation to me because it added to my own understanding of the time period and what was going on.

That the Popery itself endorsed extermination of pagans is not surprising, but that the Guelphs would take a subservient role while getting their hands dirty so to speak illustrates the lust had to subvert Barbarassa's throne.

The Slavic Wends, exterminated in name, still bear a statue of their last leader, Nyklot, in Lubeck right now, and it is from these ancient Slavic pagans that Nietszche often claimed descent, claiming that modern Germans are not of the same bloodline as ancient Germans.

“Germany is a great nation only because its people have so much Polish blood in their veins [...] I am proud of my Polish descent."

Although I agree with most scholars that Nietzche's claim to being Polish should be taken in jest, there may be something to the idea that modern Saxons have some Slavic blood in them, given the fault lines between these two civilizations for millenia.

This too, is another topic explored in my novel.
