Hello,
http://thompkinsandcariou.tripod.com will be updated in the coming days
with another article dealing with initiation. Since "Etudes sur la
franc-maçonnerie et le compagnonnage" by Guénon has just been published
in American as 'Studies about Freemasonry and Compagnonnage', it is the
perfect time to make a remark on Freemasonry which, to the best of our
knowledge, has been made until today only by Renato del Ponte and
should however be made by any serious representative of Western
tradition in currently occupied Europe: the qualification required for
Masonic initiation refers to certain members of what is called the
third caste in traditional societies and has thus NOTHING to do with
the realisatory paths which are peculiar to the priest and to the
warrior. This simple constatation, in its obviousness and in its
irrefutability, should suffice to end the discussion on this matter, at
least from the practical point of view, in circles whose members claim
not to belong to those lower castes.
