Thank you kindly for drawing our attention to this critical essay on Dugin.

It is the first serious, deep, comprehensive, criticism of Dugin’s thought we have ever read, a criticism that encompasses some of its relayers in Western Europe. More generally, it had been ages since we had not read a piece of this level under the pen of a contemporary on everything concerning the seemingly opposed universalistic standpoint and individualist standpoint applied to ‘politics’, which both originate in the essentially subjective and moralistic content of a philosophy of Semitic origin that developed in Greek Antiquity (incidentally, F. Schuon is the first to agree, however without quite following his logic to the end, that “Semites… stress a subjective way of attaining what is”, and that, if morality is not of a purely Semitic origin… it is nonetheless true that the Semitic mentality is the most specifically moralistic. While the Aryan tends to reduce morality to truth, the Semite tends to reduce truth to morality.”).

To us, who have been pointing out here and there for quite some time some of the subversive aspects of Duginism and Eurasianism, as well as his shady background, this essay is a sort of consecration.

Another critical study of the so-called 'Fourth Political Theory' was published at http://www.theoccidentalobserver.net/2014/05/alexander-dugins-4-political-theory-is-for-the-russian-empire-not-for-european-ethno-nationalists/. It completely concurs with http://democratia-mortui.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/race-ethnos-and-fourth-political-theory.htmlWhat is dubbed by media as “extreme right” no longer exists since the end of World War II. Since then, all organised political groups, from parties to small-cells, have been more or less infiltrated by the victors (see, for example, http://voiceofrussia.com/2013_05_07/Neo-Nazis-trial-in-Germany-Several-NSU-members-were-informers-lawyer/ ; http://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2002/01/npd-j30.html) Meanwhile, the entryism of Marxist intellectuals has been so successful that, having replaced Right-wing thinkers worthy of the name, they now pose as Right-wing thinkers, trying to pass off their hybrid views as Rightist principles, often successfully, since their public, for want of discrimination, probably also due to a lack of “race”, fall under the spell of their 'dialectic', whose tallowy fallacies, crass confusions, wobbly paradoxes, mechanical subtleties, a modicum of discernment is enough to spot ; everything and its opposite can be said at the same time in the same text, even in the same sentence. It is certainly heartening that some people have started to point the fingers at these ; some people in the Anglo-Saxon world ; and that their criticism is being echoed in countries where Eurasianism is big in some circles (http://jeune-nation.com/2014/05/la-4e-theorie-politique-dalexandre-douguine-est-pour-lempire-russe-pas-pour-les-ethno-nationalistes-europeens-par-domitius-corbulon/)

Is it right to assume that what seems to be the largest "anti-establishment" party in Europe, the French FN, has been infiltrated by eurasianists? Their continuous defence of Russia, "Putin", etc. and calls for a "multipolar world" (meaning a "strong" Russia) are positive clues.

Some individuals in this party are so bent on doing the above that it would not be surprising if they were on the payroll of "Russia".

“Vladimir Putin has made the emergence of a multipolar world possible”, “It is because of the economic, political, geopolitical recovery of Russia, led by Vladimir Putin, that the U.S.’ plan for dominance, which gained momentum after the fall of the Soviet Union, could be halted”, “One of the real divisions in the contemporary world is now between Pro-and Anti-Putinists. I am part of the first, not because of some sort of fascination for, or alienation to, a country that is not mine, but because the project which is in the best interests of France is an alliance withRussia.” “But another achievement must be put to his credit: he is currently (sic) contributing to the revival of traditional and spiritual values of Christian civilisation in Europe. Russia has become, for the patriots committed to the values of Christian civilisation, a hope in all the nations of Europe.” (http://blog.realpolitik.tv/blog-chauprade/vladimir-poutine/ - May 7, 2014) are some of the gems A. Chaupadre has been good enough to bless us with for some time, and he happens to be the geopolitical advisor of the National Front. How do you call bright young things who call dwarves giants ? How exactly do you call people who, like the manager of ‘Egalité et Réconciliation’, blather – surely, Big Mouths cannot be blamed for striking again, again and again – that Putin “embodies Aryan virility”, and marvel at a vaudeville-like show of power (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks9Zs-HLe4s) ?

Thankfully, not everyone is fooled by the Eurasianist agenda. The other day, we mentioned in this respect

We have been particularly interested in the article called “Russian multiculturalism policy threatening the occupied territories of Ukraine”, which states that “Russians in fact are now suffering from the same misfortune as the nations of the European Union do. Neostalinizm regime headed by Putin is now implementing a policy of multiculturalism which leads to complete dissolution of Russians in a sea of Asian people. » Surely, Vladimirovitch Shalomov Putin, or rather those who are behind him, does not show any creativity whatsoever in this respect, even though he can be said to have maintained through the years a level of obscene cynicism (see, for instance, http://rt.com/politics/putin-immigration-manifest-article-421/) his ‘Western’ colleagues cannot afford to reach in public ; in this, an age-old policy is simply being continued as originally planned. Did Trotsky not once state (see post 1851) that « We must turn Russia into a desert populated by white negroes upon whom we shall impose a tyranny such as the most terrible Eastern despots never dreamt of. The only difference is that this will be a left-wing tyranny, not a right-wing tyranny. It will be a red tyranny and not a white one.”

“We mean the word 'red' literally, because we shall shed such floods of blood as will make all the human losses suffered in the capitalist wars quake and pale by comparison. The biggest bankers across the ocean will work in the closest possible contact with us. If we win the revolution, we shall establish the power of Zionism upon the wreckage of the revolution's funeral, and we shall became a power before which the whole world will sink to its knees. We shall show what real power is. By means of terror and bloodbaths, we shall reduce the Russian intelligentsia to a state of complete stupefaction and idiocy and to an animal existence… “

Was Russia not potentially a melting-pot ? If one does not think so, one needs a map, and perhaps glasses, too.

With respect to immigration, the situation in Russia is basically the same as in ‘Western’ countries, both for immigrants and for natives, on the financial as well as on the psychological level, and the causes are the same. This is even acknowledged by a Russian director of some Muscovite Centre, namely Sergey Mikheev, in a – short - speech he delivered three years ago at the ‘Institut de la Démocratie et de la Coopération’, and whose shortness might be explained by its content. M. Mikheev is a registered democrat, and as such, he is optimistic about any outcome. His speech can be found at http://www.idc-europe.org/fr/La-politique-du-multiculturalisme-en-l-URSS-et-en-Russie-contemporaine. It was delivered in French. He does not seem to be as keen on sharing it - his optimism - with English-speaking media, on which he tends to be consulted on other issues (http://vestnikkavkaza.net/video/52912.html). On the other hand, optimism is a disposition a director of a Muscovite Centre is accustomed, strongly advised, and expected to display.

Those who advertise for Putinism in Western European countries do not do it for free ; those who freely buy it are in a state of irreversible Bovarysm. To expose Putinism for what it really is is only going to prevent a minority of Western European youngsters from wasting their time - and their money. In exposing it, upright Ukrainian nationalists and upright Russian nationalists can be instrumental.

Besides http://www.theoccidentalobserver.net/2014/05/alexander-dugins-4-political-theory-is-for-the-russian-empire-not-for-european-ethno-nationalists/, both http://downwithjugears.blogspot.com.au/2013/08/bill-white-on-alexander-dugins.html and http://www.counter-currents.com/2013/04/the-third-political-theory/, which seems to be the first critical examination of Dugin’s Eurasiasnism in the Anglo-Saxon world,  should be mentioned.

Full confirmation of what we thought is brought by the latter, that is to say, that, if not Anglo-Saxon, at least American nationalist circles were largely spared by the Eurasianist ideology until the publication of ‘The Fourth Political Theory’. It was - had to be - published by Arktos, a publishing house which was established in 2010 and which absorbed Integral Tradition Publishing, if our memory serves us right, the year after. Their catalogue includes most of the bigwigs of the so-called European ‘Nouvelle Droite’, from the rabidly anti-racist de Benoist and the diplomatical Tomislav Sunic to the ex-porn actor G. Faye and, of course, the protean and prolific Troy Southgate, who did us a favour by leaving this group a few months ago, of which he had been a member since 2004, and whose membership can still have the privilege to read his promotional messages. It is a shame that http://slackbastard.anarchobase.com/?p=2439 has not been updated ; perhaps, it would require too much work.

Criticising Eurasiasm is not enough, it is still necessary to examine the nature of this criticism, to see to what extent the danger of this ideology for what may be left of Europe is perceived.

Giuliano Adriano Malvicini’s is centred on race as a totalising concept, and shows the complete incompatibility of Dugin’s somehow vitalistic, totemistic notion of « ethnos » with it ; at the same time, great care is taken to expose and to break down the embarrassing contradictions, the embarrassing inconsistencies of the use which is made of authors like M. Heidegger and J. Evola to legitimate with authoritative arguments ‘The Fourth Political Theory’. Dugin’s plan to unite all marginalised groups, from religious conservatives (mainly Christian and Muslim) and communists to nationalists and racialists, whatever their race, their ethnos and their sex, while being rightfully considered as Utopian, is just as rightfully deemed detrimental and harmful to Whites, just as is the increasingly massive presence of coloured people in Europe (“The massive occupation of European soil by African and Middle Eastern immigrants on does not make them Europeans, and never will. This is not just because they lack a deep relationship to European soil and traditions, but also because they are racially alien”. Full stop), psychologically stimulated by “the negative view of the West found in traditionalist writings (, which) allows muslims to view their societies as spiritually superior to the decadent, anti-traditional, secular West, while at the same time apparently not feeling the least compunction over living as parasites on the productive labour of Western societies ” ; here, Traditionalism, as we pointed out a few years ago, takes its full dimension as an intellectual component of so-called ‘globalisation’. Besides, Eurasianism is perspicuously diagnosed as “an ideology tailor-made to suit contemporary Russia’s geopolitical ambitions. Russia is a multi-cultural, multi-racial empire, and Russian identity is, since ‘the great patriotic war’ against Germany, deeply anti-fascist.” No concession whatsoever is made to Dugin’s views. Nothing indicates that the author, as is often the case among nationalists, and “ethno-nationalists”, would be affected by the very evils he exposes and fights.

http://www.theoccidentalobserver.net/2014/05/alexander-dugins-4-political-theory-is-for-the-russian-empire-not-for-european-ethno-nationalists/ is most useful for those who, until recently, on the basis of the very few texts by Dugin available online, assumed him to be a die-hard representative of the Traditionalist school, by listing some of his intellectual mentors : the Jew Karl Marx, whose ideas he celebrates as “tremendously useful and applicable” ; the Jew Franz Boas, whom he calls “the greatest American cultural anthropologist” ; the Jew Levi-Strauss, who would have “convincingly showed” that African primitive cultures were as complex and rich as European cultures ; the anti-racist Foucault, with whom he shares the condemnation of the Enlightenment as a carrier of “all the signs of intellectual racism, apartheid, and other totalitarian prejudices” ; the author of a book called ‘Forget Foucault’, the French sociologist, philosopher, cultural theorist, political commentator Baudrillard, who was far less soft on mass homosexuality than our Russian propagandist is, and than Foucault, of course, was ; Deleuze, whose “anticipation of new forms of human beings with multiple identities… within a multiplex Western world of many genders and racial combinations” he fully endorses ; Negri and Hardt, whose book ‘Empire’ (2000) was widely feted as “a new Communist Manifesto,”. In case Dugin needed a job, he could indeed “easily fit into a Western university environment.  His depiction of all that is Western as racist and evil combined with his identification of non-Western traditional cultures as authentic, natural, and truthful are no different from the multiculturalist template enforced in academia” ; and so are his rejection of anti-Semitism and his devout Holocaustism. Dugin’s goals are well summarised: he “welcomes the current decomposition of Western cultures, mass immigration, and the destruction of viable and cohesive European ethnic nations. He rejects categorically the concept of nations with ethnic boundaries as a modern idea that works against traditionalism and empires. He envisages a role for White nationalists only within the context of a Europe thoroughly watered down by mass immigration and postmodern diversity where proud European ethnics will somehow find a niche alongside Africans, Asians, and Muslims against American universalism.” It should be noted that Negri and Hardt, seasoned to the verbal techniques of psychological warfare, use plentifully that of the ‘already-fulfilled prophecy’ : “As global capitalism creates “a decentered and deterritorializing apparatus of rule that progressively incorporates the entire global realm within its open, expanding frontiers,” Negri and Hardt visualize a situation in which national authorities will be unable to halter the planetary flow of immigrants seeking jobs and a better life in rich countries. Multitudes of immigrants from everywhere will pour into the center of this global empire, the West, demanding cosmopolitan freedom and eventually dissolving the difference between the wealthy center and the peripheries. Negri and Hardt see in the immigrant multitudes a new agent of revolution against the West. This multitude will have one cardinal demand that will break forever the Western imperial core: global citizenship. “The general right to control its own movement is the multitude’s ultimate demand for global citizenship”. The main demand will not be economic, the right to a guaranteed basic income, but cultural, the abolition of all immigration controls: papiers pour tous!” A master in the art of predicting what has already happened, and a strategist, too, Dugin is then caught throwing light upon how things have already been developing: “Mass immigration will create a network of sabotage inside the West, fueling the anti-globalization movement both outside and inside the West, led in the West by gay pride parades, Occupy Wall Street movements, immigrant riots in the suburbs of European cities, and a whole array of groups and protests by an emerging “post-humanity” (mutants, cyborgs, and clones), internet blogs, Black flash mobs, and ecologists. White crackers are welcomed to find a role in this multitude, fight for their identity just like everyone else. Meanwhile, these post-human trannies will be opposed by the anti-global movements in Russia and other non-Western geopolitical blocs standing for God and Tradition and old-fashion Empires. These two poles — traditionalists and cultural Marxists — will have a common enemy: Western liberalism and its main representative, “the rational, rich, adult White male.” “the rational, rich, adult White male”… In other words, Eurasianists advocate the extermination of a species which is already extinct. Good luck.

The conclusion of Domitius Corbulo leaves to be desired, especially since Dugin makes no secret of his dreams of expansion. It is all very well to recognise that “The 4th Theory policy of Alexander Dugin is the Russian Empire (sic), not for European ethno-nationalist”, but this is not enough because, as any form of proselytism, Eurasianism is not something you can take or leave, especially the day it comes banging at your door: a universalism for the disinherited, the exploited, etc;, it is to be fought, before it is eventually imposed by force.

William A. White’s article deals with Dugin’s essay ‘On White Nationalism’, which “was assembled by John Morgan”. The start is rocky, with the claim that “The essay is almost entirely on point, and is mostly an excellent and impressive statement of Traditional principles” ; a contrario, this statement of Traditional principles can be acknowledged to be “excellent and impressive”, to the extent that the ‘Primordial Tradition”, one of the tenets of Traditionalism, is conceived of as being common to all peoples, to all races, in keeping with the Judeo-Christian belief in the common origin of the human races, of their belonging to the same species. However, the use of the verb “err” at the beginning of the second paragraph put “almost” in perspective, and the “statement of Traditional principles” is no longer assessed as positively: “Dugin errs when it comes to discussing race and the Jewish question, and displays a misunderstanding of both the Traditionalist worldview and the realities of race. As an inhabitant of nearly all-white Russia , his lack of experience with the negro and lack of understanding of the Jewish role in America politics likely contributed to those errors.” Dugin’s denunciation of White racism and lack of understanding of race and racial realities are as strongly criticised as in the two other essays, ‘Eurasianism and American White Nationalism’ still goes further by denouncing implicitly the hypocrisy of “(failing) to name or even admit the roles of Judaism and Zionism- and the Zionist Entity in Palestine- in creating and promulgating American hegemony, ultra-liberalism, financial elites, human rights, and the rest”, in other words, in producing modernity ; the hypocrisy of not acknowledging that the “Jewish-sponsored immigration policies is to destroy the unity of the White ethno-cultural organism and to cause it to die”, thus doing Dugin’s job for him.

Some significant contradictions in Dugin’s revolutionary views are highlighted that were not mentioned in the other essays: first, “To support multi-polarity and Traditional counter-revolution, one must support organic social entities with an ethno-cultural basis. Modernity- what Dugin opposes—is the effort to organize men without regard to these essential unities” ; then, “Dugin’s understanding of nationalism only in terms of the bourgeois nationalism of the French Revolution is too narrow. He knows well that this is not the nationalism of National Socialism or the better elements of White Nationalism.” In fact, Dugin is too smart not to know this perfectly. As any agitator’s, his words appeal and are meant to appeal to the hearts rather than to the minds ;  when he claims that “We need to save America from its own dictatorship, which is as bad for the American people as it is all other peoples”, he knows very well that he pushes the right button. Furthermore, W.A. White reminds Dugin that his wishes have already become true: “America is not the white American people—it is a multi-cultural empire dominated by Zionists and Jews.”

So it is hard to see what may lead him to state at the beginning of the conclusion that “Alexander Dugin and his Eurasianism are admirable. Dugin’s concept of a future multi-polar order is prescient.”

The matted admiration for Dugin that can be felt in this essay degenerates into mere cheerleading in ‘The Third Political Theory’ by Michael O'Meara: “Dugin has… become a prominent fixture in the NR constellation, sharing the heavens with Benoist. This prominence is entirely deserved, for the gifted Dugin (something of a one-man think tank) is conversant in all the major European languages, erudite in the anti-liberal and esoteric heritage the NR rescued from the postwar Memory Hole, and, above all, an uncompromising, metapolitically-prolific opponent of the United States, “the citadel of world liberalism” and thus the principal source of evil in our time.”

Hands having been shaken, O’Meara, too, realises that Eurasianism is, and was originally made, ‘for internal use’: it constitutes “something of a prospective state ideology inclusive of the Jews, Muslims, and Turks occupying Russian lands—more concerned thus with geopolitical than ethno-civilizational (state power rather than Russian) hegemony…” ; he finds it to be “hence something potentially anti-cultural”  ; would it not be better perhaps to say “actually” ? One of the merits of this short essay is to contextualise the activism of the Russian author, presenting him in his environment, that of the ‘Nouvelle Droite’, in which he was once promoted by de Benoist, whose latest thing is the “pluriversum”, and its ethnopluralist, multiculturalist, and communitarian crutches. In the same way as the three previous authors, he observes that the views shared by « Dugin and Benoist cannot but endanger Europeans, for they legitimize Islam’s colonization of their historic lands, just as they risk turning European Russians into a Turkic-Slavic or Asian people, and thus away from the destiny they share with other Europeans (the “Boreans”: the white or Indo-European peoples of the North). Why would it be so, since “Dugin, of course, is correct in dismissing ‘race’ as a key social determinant. The white man’s impending demise is spiritual, not biological, in origin”? Just as “Dugin’s lack of experience with the negro and lack of understanding of the Jewish role in America politics likely contributed to (his) errors”, so could it be that, conversely, O’Meara’s extensive experience with the Negro in his daily life in the American meting-pot, that is, in a human agglomerate to which the term of society cannot seriously be applied, has clouded his mind to the point of making him agree with the Russian propagandist on this point ?

Race is not a key social determinant, it is the key social determinant, and it has always been so from Mauritania to Japan, from the Arabic peninsula to China ; it was so, too, in early Athens, in Sparta ; not to mention that, in countries inhabited almost exclusively by ethnic groups belonging to the same race, as in South-East Asia and in sub-Saharan Africa, the ethnic group is precisely the determining factor, both on the social and on the cultic plane. Only someone with the state of mind of a tourist can miss out this fundamental fact of social life. As for the notion that “The white man’s impending demise is spiritual, not biological, in origin”, leaving aside that it is a catch phrase parroted by those who have never pondered over the problem of racial degeneracy, it betrays a materialist view of race in that it reduces it to a mere biological fact, despite this metaphorical effort to mitigate it: « For man is a living, blood-infused being: change his blood (race) and you change his spirit.”

Three problems are identified with the treatment of Fascism and National-Socialism in ‘The Fourth Political theory’: first, its throwing National-Socialism and Fascism in the same pot, “while at the same time ignoring their common roots in an earlier history of anti-liberal resistance”.

Second, “he fails to acknowledge that these ‘ideologies’ (Fascism and National-Socialism) originated not ex nihilo in the 1920s and ’30s, but from a half-century long movement that had emerged in opposition to similar modernizing forces propelled by Jewish and speculative interests profiting from liberalism’s ongoing economization of European life. Not seeing or stressing the social-historical crucible out of which 3PT emerged causes him to miss the larger counter-modernist intent of its “Third Way.” Of course, he fails to do so ; in fact, he cannot but fail to do so, since, otherwise, he would inevitably be forced to acknowledge the essential part played by Jewish high finance in the rise and the establishment of so-called liberalism in ‘Western’ countries.

Third, he neglects the post-WW2 offshoots of ‘Fascism’, supposedly « presently creating conditions conducive to another mass, ‘fascist’-style, anti-liberal insurgence.” Do Dugin, de Benoist and Co seriously believe in the re-emergence of ‘Fascism’ through current so-called ‘Far-right’ parties in Europe, and subsequently in their coming to power ? It is doubtful, at least in the case of de Benoist, who was sponsored in the late 1980’s by the ‘Parti Socialiste’ to make more credible the attempt of the ‘Front national’ at posing as “a threat to democracy”, at a time when the ‘Cultural Distorter’ was still not ready to launch the ‘Islamic threat’.

Since Yockey is mentioned at the end of the essay, it seems to us that the following excerpts from ‘Imperium’ summarises very well what Eurasianism is about : “.From the top of a mountain of Western dead, he (the Culture-Distorter) can regard his mission of revenge as having been apparently completely accomplished. Behind him is the spirit of Asiatic Bolshevism, which now lords it over “the rotten West,” as 19th century Russian litterateurs named the Europe they hated so much. Then, everywhere, stand the outer forces, renewed in hope and success by the retreat of the West they have forced and continued to force daily. In India, Egypt, China, the East Indies, they stride forward, and the white man retreats steadily.”

“In his victory parade in Moscow in 1945, the barbarian exhibited his Western captive slaves to the jeering crowds of his cities, and made them drag their national flags behind them in the dust. If any Westerner thinks that the barbarian makes nice distinctions between the former nations of the West, he is incapable of understanding the feelings of populations outside a High Culture toward that Culture. Tomorrow the captive slaves offered up to the annihilation-instincts of the Moscow mobs may be drawn from Paris, London, Madrid, as well as from Berlin.”

Like Dugin, any consistent White European patriot wishes to see the destruction of what Eurasianists and others call with resentment the “rotten West’, but for diametrically opposed reasons, since there are strong indications that the ‘West’ was rotten by the East.

Well, it needs a third.  As a matter of fact, Schuon – we checked the original French edition - said the exact opposite : "On the contrary, Semites stress our (Aryans’) subjective way of attaining what is.” Then, his view stands in contradiction with the accurate statement, made in the following paragraph, that “a tendency to inspiration characterizes the mind of the Semite”, in a sense that the theistic god whith whom the prophet comunicates through revelation, the faihtfull through inspiration, is as subjective a conception of the divine as can be

Such nonsense is well explained by the fact that Frithjof Schuon was priestly minded, what in its turn is a mere consequence of its racial origins.

In his youth, he looked like a Sephardic Jew: http://www.frithjofschuon.info/english/imagegallery/photogallery.aspx.
