A lenghty book on "National-Socialism and Antiquity" was recently published in France. It is overall very rich and deals with the subject in an almost total neutral way, which is not common.

I wished to share the rich bibliography and the table of contents: http://www.scribd.com/doc/237684781/Le-National-Socialisme-et-l-Antiquite-pdf

The sources are exclusively national-socialist ones and most of them are little-known. Perhaps some can be found on the internet.

I will probably write on some of the most interesting points discussed in this book. I can answer any questions on the book's contents.

The last name on the list is Commodus, and this is understandable, since, after him, most emperors, starting with Pertinax, emperor for three months in 193, were of Semitic stock. However, both Trajan and Adrian were of Spanish extraction. The father of Titus Antoninus was a native of Nemausus (modern Nîmes) in Gaul. "It is true, these emperors sprang from Roman colonies, and were intitled to the right of citizens by their birth. But it is highly probable that they would have been puzzled to prove their descent from the true Romans their ancestors" (J.B.L. Crevier, The History of the Roman Emperors, vol. 8, 1814) It is interesting that Petrarch ended the record of Roman Empire with Titus, that is, with emperors who were blood descendants of the patriciate, in his early work 'Africa', only to extend the circle of Roman rulers not only to the later emperors from Trajan to Marcus Aurelius, but even Theodosius, in his later works.
