Re: Lezing over Julius Evola

To be more specific, there is no need to open a debate as to whether or not J.
Evola, as asserted by J. Bowden, was "a Catholic" and claimed to be a "pagan
Catholic", or, as recently stated by a scholar, "a polytheist". All one needs to
do to be certain of the Italian author's position in this respect is to read the
first chapter of 'The Road of Cinnabar'. In the same way, there is no need to
initiate a discussion about his core position on the Jewish problem or on
eugenism : it is stated in black and white in his books, essays or articles on
these matters, some of which, as far as articles and essays are concerned, are
available online. What's the point of trying to popularise his work by stating
that "Folks, Evola was not an anti-Semite !", when his most popular book,
'Revolt against the Modern World', contains in nuce one of the most radical
criticism of the Jew ?
Sweeping under the carpet the 'politically incorrect' aspects of J. Evola's
world-view, or pretending they don't exist, is the work of scholars : it is a
risky business.

least because Jonathan is coming from a more materialistic angle. However,
surely it is for people to make their own minds up as far as these matters are
concerned? Indeed, at worst, at least it stimulates debate and enables people
to understand precisely WHERE and HOW such interpretations are incorrect. In
other words, dealing with those matters which you consider to be inaccurate or
incorrect is surely preferable to sweeping them under the carpet or pretending
they don't exist?

weeks ago. We did not post the new link for the simple reason that, the more we
listen to it, the less, while finding J. Bowden's performance, as usual,
flamboyant, spectacular, we feel it can be of any help to the members of this
forum, who, judging from what they tell us when subscribing to it, seem to be
rather familiar with J. Evola's work, whereas J. Bowden's conference, meant to
be for the general public, contains generalisations and approximations which are
intrinsic to any intellectual venture of this kind, and cannot possibly be
avoided. It is for the same reason that we do not feel like giving publicity to
a few other very recent online attempts at popularising J. Evolas's work, all
the more as these attempts go hand in hand with an irrepressible tendancy to
scholarise it, leading, if not to an emasculation, at least to a blurring of his
racial positions.
