In April 1951, Julius Evola was arrested at his residence on the Corso
Vittorio Emanuele by members of the Political Police of Rome. He was
accused of having been the "intellectual leader", the "inspirer", with
his "nebulous theories", of a group of young men who themselves were
accused of having set up underground combat organisations : the F.R.A
(Fasces of Revolutionary Action) and the 'Black Legion', a neo-fascist-
orientated group, and who were charged with attempting to rehabilitate
Fascism and with "having attempted to re-form the disbanded Fascist
party".
