Schuon/Evola

Hello,

Evola quoted Schuon in various books, of which 'Riding the Tiger', to
illustrate and support, on one hand, his criticism of Renaissance, on
the other hand the fact that the Semitic concept of 'sin' is unknown to
Hindus, and 'L'Arco e la clava', in three different articles of this
book, the first about 'The Concept of Initiation', the second
about 'Negroised America', the third about 'Subliminal influences
and "intelligent stupidity"', using, in the title of the latter, one of
Schuon's favourite oxymora. On the other hand, Schuon never quoted or
even alluded to Evola's work, not even in 'Castes and races'. They
never met. They never had a correspondance.

They both criticised the modern world, their respective diagnosis was
rather similar, but it remains to see whether they agreed with each
other on the cause of this crisis, at least on the material plane. As a
matter of fact, as is quite well-known, Schuon, who wasn't exactly born
a warrior, agreed with Guénon to say that it was essentially due to a
revolt of the Kshatriya against the Brahmana. Now, it is interesting to
note that Schuon's views on Guénon 'personal equation' was closely akin
to Evola's.

P.s.: "La parole obscure du paysage intérieur", republished a few years
ago by Fondazione Evola, is still available, and so is
still "Méditations du haut des cimes" http://www.alapage.com/mx/?
