Rome, 3 February 1963
Dear Mr. Freda,
Thank you for your letter, and for your interest in my work. Although
I sympathise with initiatives like the one you have described to me,
at least for their demonstrative value, I do not think I can accede
to your wishes ; my experiences have taught me not to support any
formation which, might subsequently take part in political struggle.
My latest book, 'Ride the Tiger', will give you an idea of my point
of view today. It was while writing 'Ride the Tiger' that I had the
idea of republishing something along the lines of a review which I
directed in 1930 and which caused quite a stir : it was called 'La
Torre', but it also possessed the provocative subtitle 'bi-monthly of
reactionary and anti-social thought'. I thought of doing this in
order to propose a pure aggressive action of rupture, anti-conformist
in every sense and on all planes, without any constructive purpose,
by 'right-wing anarchists', along the lines of Papini's
review 'Lacerba' of 1914, but naturally with a quite different,
albeit tacit, doctrinal background. However, it seems that the
conditions needed to realise such an initiative - the material
conditions, above all - do not exist.
Best wishes and cordial greetings
Julius EVOLA
